Bayer Philippines, Inc.
Established in 1962, Bayer Philippines, Inc. is the holding company for the businesses of Bayer HealthCare and Bayer MaterialScience businesses in the Philippines. It has its main office facilities in Canlubang Industrial Estate, Calamba City, Laguna and a satellite office in Makati City.
Bayer HealthCare is a leading company in health care and medical products in the world. It develops and manufactures innovative products to improve human and animal health care under the following divisions: Animal Health, Consumer Care and Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals.
Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals holds a leadership position in the specialty pharmaceuticals arena. Bayer HealthCare Pharma in the Philippines offers products for General Medicine, including medicines for cardiovascular and infectious diseases, Women’s HealthCare, Specialty Medicine, and Radiology and Interventional.
Bayer HealthCare – Consumer Care is one of the world’s biggest and leading suppliers of non-prescription or over the counter (OTC) drugs and dietary supplements. It has more than 170 trusted brands around the world including well known names in the Philippines such as Bayer Aspirin, Canesten, Rogin-E, Berocca, One-A-Day, Calci-Aid, and Saridon – all united under the Bayer cross.
Bayer HealthCare – Animal Health is among the world’s biggest animal health care supplier with its wide range of anti-infectives, parasiticides, nutritionals and biologicals for livestock, poultry, and pets. Among its best known global products are: broad-spectrum anti-infective Baytril; coccidiocide Baycox; metabolic stimulant Coforta/Catosal; antiparasiticides Asuntol, Neguvon and Sebacil; vitamin mineral pre-mix Baymix; nutritionals Pecutrin and Latibon; and biosecurity products Farm Fluid S and Virkon S. The Bay-o-Pet line of care and protection products for companion animals.
Bayer MaterialScience, meanwhile, imports, distributes and supplies various industries in the country with Bayer’s chemical products and other innovative materials.
As one of the largest producers of polymers and high performance materials in the world, Bayer MaterialScience, with its innovative developments in coatings, adhesives, sealants, polycarbonates and polyurethanes enhance the quality of life in a wide variety of markets and applications.
A pioneer in the development of environment-friendly coatings and adhesives, Bayer coating systems based on polyurethane raw materials are widely accepted in a variety of applications from wood parquet flooring and basketball courts to wet look car finish. Bayer produces more than a quarter of the world’s polyurethane. Polyurethane materials are used to produce mattresses, car seats and insulation for refrigerators. They are also used in car bumper and shoe soles.
Makrolon, a trademark for high quality polycarbonates, is best seller because it is indispensable in the manufacture of automotive components, optical storage media such as CDs and DVDs, drinking bottles, medical equipment, and a wide range of products that make daily living more comfortable and enjoyable.
Bayer CropScience (Philippines), Inc.
Bayer CropScience, Inc. manages the Bayer CropScience businesses in the Philippines. Bayer CropScience is the leading supplier of crop protection products in the country, with an expanding hybrid rice seed business. It has its main office and production facilities in Canlubang Industrial Estate, Calamba City, Laguna.
Bayer CropScience has two operational business groups – Crop Protection and BioScience. Crop Protection offers an extensive range of insecticides, fungicides, molluscicides, herbicides and seed treatments with more than 80 products for all main crops such as rice, mango, banana, pineapple, corn, fruit and vegetables. The key brands are Baylucide, Bulldock, Ricestar Xtra, Ronstar, Fuerza, Confidor, Climax, Decis, Sevin, Hercules, Twist, Siganex, Basta, Folicur, Baycor, and Nemacur from Crop Protection and Arize Bigante from BioScience.
BioScience offers rice farmers an opportunity to increase yields through the hybrid rice technology. BioScience has already commercialized various hybrid varieties like Bigante, Arize H64, and Bigante-TEJ, under the Arize umbrella brand that are adaptable to both wet and dry seasons in the county.
Bayer CropScience has the country’s largest and most modern crop protection manufacturing plant that produces more thank half of the country’s requirements for crop protection and consumer household insecticide products.
Bayer Business Philippines, Inc.
Bayer Business Services Philippines, Inc. (BBSPI) is one of the centers for the global operations of Shared Services organization that is meant to optimize and improve the accounting services at Bayer.
BBSPI inaugurated its new office on April 16, 2012 at the Science Tower Hub 2, McKinley Hill in Taguig City.
By 2014, it is projected that the company will have a workforce of 600 employees providing finance and accounting services to various Bayer companies all over the world.
